The UK driving test may seem a daunting prospect but City Driving Academy is here to support and guide you right through the process, enabling you to pass your test as simply and safely as possible and equipping you with driving skills you can rely on in any situation. The driving test comprises of the Theory Test and the Practical Test. You must have successfully completed the Theory Test to be able to apply for the Practical test. UK Theory Test This is made up of 2 sections:-
The theory test is straightforward if you take the time to study. City Driving Academy offers support and training through the theory test giving advice on useful books, websites and DVDs, and offering as much in-car theory advice as needed including practice questions. The hazard perception part of the test is a series of 1 minute real road and traffic situations and you will score highly if you can demonstrate good observation and anticipation skills as well as a good reaction time. During your City Driving Academy driving lessons you will be able to practice those hazard perception skills not only to help you successfully complete the computer-based hazard awareness test, but to then be able to transfer those skills into real on-road situations which is the key to good, safe driving.
UK Practical Driving Test The practical driving test lasts about 40 minutes and you are required to drive safely on different types of roads, complete 2 out of 4 manoeuvres (turn in the road, reverse around a corner, parallel park or bay park) and possibly an emergency stop. You can expect the best preparation for your driving test at City Driving Academy, which will ensure you are confident and ready to pass your test and drive independently. It is therefore strongly recommended that you apply for your test when your instructor decides that you have the skills and ability to pass, taking into account the 6-8 week waiting list at both of the Nottingham test centres (Colwick MPTC and Chalfont Drive). City Driving Academy reserves the right to refuse the use of the tuition car for test purposes if the instructor believes the pupil to be under prepared or not safe to take a test. Taking your instructor’s professional advice will ensure you stand the best chance of passing your test.
Test preparation will include:-
